Recognise the evidence that changes a project decision

The situations below are fictional. Each points to a complete investigation in the notebook. Their purpose is to show how a specific observation can change the proposed work, not to report client results or prescribe the same correction for another system.

The right language files sit behind the wrong choices

A visitor chooses te reo Māori subtitles and receives the approved English file. Both complete translations exist, so commissioning another translation would not address the defect. The delivered player connects each language label to the other resource.

The correction changes the two bindings while preserving the approved files. The review follows each selection to its resource and checks a separate video. The subtitle guide explains the distinction between content approval and the technical association that presents it.

A filled address is incomplete when staff receive it

The customer sees rural-delivery and mailtown values, but the order handler never receives them. A layout change has moved those inputs outside the form without retaining their ownership relationship.

The relevant evidence is the constructed entry list, not another screenshot of the completed fields. The address guide shows the explicit association and the independent-form controls. The merchant's delivery and payment decisions remain separate from that repair.

A current request appears to have arrived in 1970

The source provides a timestamp in whole seconds. The adapter passes the number to a constructor expecting milliseconds. The record exists, but its incorrect instant excludes it from the intended current-work view.

The timestamp guide preserves the original source and converts under its declared contract. It also checks an independently documented millisecond endpoint, demonstrating why guessing from the number's size is unnecessary.

A cheaper first year does not fit the operating plan

Two fictional products satisfy the demonstrated capability. One has a low introductory charge followed by renewal charges that exceed the organisation's annual licence ceiling. The other fits the specified three-year arrangement.

The owner selects the second product after reviewing the written obligations, not because a website labels it better value. The cost guide retains the separate hosting and tax questions and identifies who owns the future renewal decision.

The feature works, but its operating duty is declined

A private trial proves that a visitor-question board can hold material for moderation. The owner nevertheless declines the required moderation responsibility for the season, and the publication rule forbids automatic posting.

The deferral example keeps the board unpublished and completes an ordinary question through the existing private route. It records what would need to change before reopening the proposal. Technical possibility is useful evidence, but it does not appoint the person who must operate the service.

Use your own task to choose the investigation

The common approach is to locate the decision and follow its evidence. The observations themselves are different: a resource association, a form relationship, a numeric unit, a renewal obligation and an unassigned responsibility. Each requires its own response.

Use the project card to describe the situation you can demonstrate. If the current evidence is incomplete, say so. That is a reason to investigate, not to fill the gap with a confident feature recommendation.
